Welcome to the Nurtuz creative corner!
Creating your own party decorations is one of the most rewarding ways to celebrate your little ones. However, sometimes the “DIY” look can feel a bit… unfinished. Today, I’m sharing 3 quick tips to make your digital printables look like they came straight from a professional boutique.
1. Choose the Right Paper Weight
For invitations and cake toppers, skip the standard printer paper. Use cardstock (at least 200gsm / 110lb). The thickness adds a premium feel and ensures your decorations stand tall throughout the party.
Note: Before buying your cardstock, check your printer’s manual for the maximum paper weight it can handle. Some home printers may struggle with very thick sheets, so it’s always best to verify your equipment’s specs first!
2. The Magic of a Sharp Blade
While scissors work, a paper trimmer or a craft knife (like an X-Acto) with a metal ruler will give you those crisp, straight edges that scream professional quality. For round tags, a 2-inch circle punch is your best friend!
3. Setting Your Printer to “High Quality
Before hitting print, go into your printer settings and select “Best” or “High Quality” and choose the correct paper type (Matte or Glossy). It uses more ink, but the colors will be vibrant and true to the Nurtuz designs.
Happy creating! What are you planning for your next celebration? Let me know in the comments below!
